1 March 2024 - The Minister for Finance Michael McGrath has today announced the appointment of Mr. Patrick Delaney as the next Chair of the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI).
Mr Delaney succeeds Ms. Barbara Cotter, who has been a member of the SBCI’s Board since March 2015. Ms Cotter’s second term as a Board Member expired on 29 February 2024.
Commenting on the appointment of a new Chair, Minister McGrath said:
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Delaney as the new Chair of the SBCI. Mr Delaney has over 25 years’ director level experience with the Small Firms Association and IBEC and will bring a wealth of experience and understanding of the challenges facing the business sector to the role of Chairperson. I wish Patrick every success during his term as Chair."
Minister McGrath also paid tribute to the outgoing Chairperson Barbara Cotter:
"I thank Barbara Cotter for her significant contribution and dedication to the Board since 2015. In particular, I would like to thank Barbara for the leadership and commitment she has shown in steering the SBCI since taking up the Chair role in March 2019. I wish her the very best for the future.”
