Margaret Heffernan, Entrepreneur, CEO & Writer

Margaret Heffernan is an entrepreneur, CEO, writer and keynote speaker. She is currently a Professor of Practice at the University of Bath School of Management in the UK. Heffernan is the former chief executive officer of five businesses and is the writer of five books that explores business and effective leadership.

Richard Curran, Broadcaster & Journalist

Richard Curran is a seasoned business journalist, broadcaster and writer who’s 27 year career has spanned from presenting Dragon’s Den to currently presenting The Business on RTÉ Radio One.

Cathy Bryce, Managing Director, Corporate , Institutional and Business Banking, AIB

Cathy started her career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley and subsequently ABN AMRO. She joined AIB in 1996 holding a range of leadership roles in debt Capital Markets, most recently leading the International Leveraged Finance business. In 2018 she joined the National Treasury Management Agency where she was part of the executive management team as Director, NewERA and the National Development Finance Agency. In 2019 she returned to AIB as Managing Director, Corporate , Institutional and Business Banking. She is a business graduate of Trinity College Dublin and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Hillary Gormley, Head of Business Banking, AIB

Hillary is Head of Business Banking at AIB since April 2019, she has over 30 years’ experience in AIB, and has held a number of senior roles across the Business enjoying a wide and varied career across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, FSG, and Corporate, Institute and Business Banking (CIB), both in Ireland and the UK.

John Purdy, CEO, Ergo

John Purdy has been at the helm of Ergo for over 26 years as co-founder and CEO, spinning off two companies along the way – Fenergo and FlowForma – and winning the prestigious EY Industry Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2014 and Person of the Year at the 2011 ICT Excellence Awards. Under John’s leadership, Ergo has grown organically and through acquisition (CDSoft, iSite, Micromail) to become Ireland’s leading IT services company with €85m revenue, over 400 employees and a culture that reflects his capacity for continuous reinvention. He describes Ergo as “a mature company in constant start-up mode”, highlighting his appetite for innovation and change. At the same time he’s a pragmatist and team player, qualities that infuse Ergo’s daily operations where he has been careful to recruit talented people who share his vision. It’s all about creating an environment where the focus is on forging long-lasting relationships with customers through service excellence and a tenacious commitment to solving their problems.

Dan O’Brien, Chief Economist at the Institute of International and European Affairs

Dan O'Brien is Chief Economist at the Institute of International and European Affairs, Ireland's leading foreign affairs think tank. He is also Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin and a columnist and economics analyst for Ireland's largest media organisation, Independent Newspaper Group.

Julie Sinnamon, CEO, Enterprise Ireland Julie Sinnamon

Julie Sinnamon is CEO of Enterprise Ireland, a government agency responsible for the growth of Irish-owned businesses in global markets.Prior to her appointment to CEO in November 2013, Julie held a number of senior public sector positions, spanning a 30 year career in Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland. Julie has considerable experience in a variety of industry sectors, most notably the food sector, where she has worked directly with some of Ireland's best-known food brands, from their originating idea, right through to globally trading multi-national food businesses.

Catherine Moroney, Head of Business Banking Market, AIB

Catherine is Head of Business Banking Market at AIB Bank. She is also Chairman & Non-Executive Director of AIB Corporate Finance and is President of Dublin Chamber 2020/21 and a Board and Council Member of Dublin Chamber. Catherine is also a member of the Advisory Board of DCU Centre for Family Business, a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers, a founding member of LIFT, a leadership not-for-profit organisation and a former Non-Exec Director of Aviva Health. Catherine was awarded the ‘International Financial Leader of the Decade’ award at the Women’s Economic Forum in India in May 2018 and awarded a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by the WEF in 2020. In 2018, Catherine was awarded ‘Business Woman of the Year’ at the Irish National In-Business Recognition Awards in December 2018 and ‘Best Business Bank’ in 2019. In 2017 she was awarded ‘Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Ireland’ award from the WXN (Women’s Executive Network). Catherine is a graduate of UCD Business School (BComm Banking & Finance) and has attended Cranfield in the UK and the European Management Centre in Brussels. Catherine has spent her career in financial services across Corporate, Business, Treasury and Retail Banking, as well as leading teams in the development of Strategy, Products and large change programmes.

John Madigan, Head of Marketing and Research Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland

John joined the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland in February 2015 from KBC Bank. At KBC Bank Ireland he had been Senior Manager Strategy and Planning, Retail Distribution as part of the Retail Distribution Leadership team since 2013. There he led the rollout of KBCI Retail Distribution strategy, delivering on both the expansion of KBCI physical branch infrastructure and the expansion of KBCI product suite to include Consumer Finance products. Prior to joining KBC, John spent 34 years with Bank of Ireland, where his roles included Head of Branches - Dublin Central and South, Head of Marketing and Communications for Retail in Ireland, Branch Manager in Carlow and various roles in planning, marketing, training and branch and business banking.
